ORANMORE has a growing population of approximately 5,000 people and lies just 8km (20 minutes) from Galway City centre. It is a thriving community with so much to offer.

There are three primary schools (Gaelscoil de hĺde, Scoil Iosaf Naofa and Scoil Mhuire) and a large co-ed secondary school (Calasanctious College). For third level students, University of Galway and Atlantic Technological university are accessible by bus.

The community all-weather pitch in the centre of town is used by youth and adult sports teams alike for a range of activities. The local Oranmore-Maree GAA club is matching it’s famous exploits on the field with it’s ambitious development plans for the future. The Maldron and The Oranmore Lodge Hotels both offer excellent gym and swimming facilities. The Galway Bay Golf Resort with its course designed by Christy O’Connor and the Galway Bay sailing Club are both just a short journey away at Renville.

ORANMORE and it’s environs is well serviced with an array of exclusive shops, restaurants and cafe’s. There are four supermarkets (Orantown Centre, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi) with Dunnes just a short drive in to Briarhill at the south edge of Galway city.

There is a myriad of scenic attractions dotted along this stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way with both Connemara and The Burren easily reachable for a day of exercise and discovery.
